Statement

This series of photographs explores political symbolism, specifically the American flag as a representation of individual people. The characters in this series are specific to the portrayal of Americans in the American media. Each (nearly) faceless model utilizes flag as an icon with which he or she interacts to create a dialogue about the issues we face every day in the 21st century US media. This ongoing project reflects an analytical perspective on pop culture, using a select few models as the bearers of American identity.
